Semi Truck Overturns on Virginia Highway Near Waynesboro

WAYNESBORO, VA – A semi trailer truck overturned Saturday, July 24, on a highway in Augusta County, Virginia. The truck accident occurred just north of the Blue Ridge Mountains at the juncture of Interstate 64 and Virginia State Route 340 near the city of Waynesboro. The accident area is in the central west section of the state about 62 miles north of Lynchburg, VA and about 140 miles southwest of Washington, DC.

Police shut down a section of the southbound lanes of State Route 340 as well as the entrance ramp to I-64 while highway crews worked to clear the debris and other material from the interstate

On Saturday morning truck driver Edgar Morales was driving a semi trailer truck south on Interstate 64 in Augusta County, VA. Semi Truck Carrying Mobile Home Overturns on Virginia Highway

FAIRFAX, VA – A semi trailer truck carrying a prefabricated mobile home hit another vehicle before it jack knifed and overturned Thursday afternoon, July 8, on a highway in Fairfax County, Virginia. The rollover truck accident occurred near Washington, DC in the southbound lanes of Interstate 495 near Old Dominion Drive. The area is in the north section of the state about 57 miles southwest of Baltimore, Maryland and about 99 miles north of Richmond, VA.

Shortly after 12 noon on Thursday an unidentified truck driver from Delaware was driving an extra wide semi trailer truck south on Interstate 495 on the outer loop that goes around Washington, DC. Sleeping Driver Crashes Semi Truck on a Virginia Highway

NEWPORT NEWS, VA – A driver reportedly fell asleep at the wheel and crashed his semi trailer truck on a highway in Virginia early Tuesday morning, June 15. The truck accident occurred near Newport News, VA on Interstate 64 where it intersects with J. Clyde Morris Boulevard. The accident area is the far southeast corner of the state across the bay from the Norfolk-Portsmouth-Virginia Beach metro region, about 80 miles southeast of Richmond, VA and about 57 miles north of Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

Local emergency personnel and law enforcement officers responded to the scene of the truck accident. Police immediately shut down at least one of the northbound traffic lanes on the interstate.

At around 5:00 a.m. Tuesday morning Wilbert Reynolds of Baltimore, Maryland was driving a semi trailer truck north on Interstate 64 in Virginia. Three Semis Involved in Deadly Virginia Truck Accident

WYTHE COUNTY, VA – Three semi trailers were involved in a deadly truck accident on a Virginia highway early Monday morning on May 3, 2010. The multi truck collision occurred on Interstate 81 near mile marker 58 in Wythe County, Virginia. The accident area is in the far southeast corner of the state about 65 miles northwest of Mt. Airy, North Carolina and about 92 miles southwest of Roanoke, VA.

Highway crews were brought in to clear the wreckage of the multi truck accident.

At around 3:40 a.m. Monday morning 59 year old Marion F. Dale of Dunn, North Carolina was driving north on Interstate 81 hauling thirty head of cattle from Knoxville, VA to Godwin, NC. Miley Cyrus Safe In Tour Bus Accident Driver Killed – Video

Dinwiddle, VA – One of Miley Cyrus tour buses carrying the singer’s band and crew, overturned on Interstate 85 early Friday morning at 10:23 A.M. in the Virginia accident. Miley Cyrus was on another bus and was not hurt.

The bus was one of four coaches transporting Cyrus’ tour crew to Greensboro, North Carolina, where she is due to perform on Sunday. The singer was not travelling with her crew – instead, she had boarded a flight to her native Nashville, as The Los Angeles Times reports.

Bill Douglas 53, the driver of the rolled over bus, died when the bus flipped over, injuring nine of 14 production crewmembers on board.

Cyrus has paid tribute on her website to the bus driver who lost his life in this tragic accident.

Miley expressed her grief at the death of “Uncle Bill”, who she considered part of her “family”.

In a statement posted on Cyrus’ website, she says, “We are deeply saddened by the loss of Bill ‘Uncle Bill’ Douglas.

“Members of our tour are like members of our family. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family in the midst of this tragedy. He will truly be missed.”

Police told TMZ there were no obvious signs that alcohol played a factor in the crash, and believe Douglas may have had health-related issues. The matter is still under investigation.
