School Children Injured in Tractor Trailer Accident Near Raleigh NC
WAKE FOREST, NC – Seven school children were injured on Friday, December 10, when the bus they were riding was hit by a semi trailer truck in Franklin County, North Carolina. The driver of the bus was also hurt in the truck accident which occurred at the intersection of Stadium Drive and Capital Boulevard in the city of Wake Forest, NC. The accident area is just north of the state capital city of Raleigh in the north-central section of the state, about 208 miles north of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina and about 148 miles south of Lynchburg, Virginia.

Late Friday morning a bus driver with the Franklin County School District was transporting thirty-five schoolchildren on a field trip. The students had attended a play at Wake Forest-Rolesville High School in Wake Forest and were headed back to Bunn Middle School, in Bunn, NC. Train Slams into Stalled Trailer Truck in North Carolina
CLEVELAND, NC – A freight train slammed into a semi trailer truck that had stalled on railroad tracks Monday morning, June 7, 2010, in Rowan County, North Carolina. The truck accident occurred as the 18 wheeler was leaving a local business in the town of Cleveland, NC. The area is in the west central section of the state between Charlotte and Winston-Salem, NC, about 83 miles south of Galax, Virginia and about 112 miles northeast of Spartanburg, South Carolina.

As the semi trailer truck was crossing railroad tracks at Statesville Boulevard it apparently stalled and got stuck on the tracks. At that moment a westbound freight train was headed down the tracks and unable to stop slamming into the tractor trailer truck.

Train Crashes Into Semi Truck In North Carolina
MATTHEWS, NC – WBTV news reports that a train heading to Charlotte NC from Atlanta, GA collided with a tractor trailer truck in Matthews, NC Tuesday at 6:30 a.m. Fortunately, no one was injured as a result of the accident.

The Matthews Police Department reports that the trailer got stuck on the tracks on Crestdale Road near East Charles Street. Because the truck driver was able to un-hitch the cab of the truck from the trailer, the train, which consisted of two locomotives and 19 cars, hit the trailer resulting in an accident.
Crestdale Rd. at E. Charles St. was closed, as well as Tank Town Rd. at the E. Charles St. rail crossing. Around 10:30 AM CSX was able to move the train and reopen access to Tank Town Rd. and the Rainbow Ridge community.
Repairs of the affected rail crossing at Crestdale Rd. and clean up of the scene lasted into the afternoon hours.
The driver of the truck was cited for careless and reckless driving; and obstructing a rail road crossing with a commercial motor vehicle, according to the Town of Matthews
State Highway Patrol Commercial Motor Vehicle Enforcement Troopers responded to assist with the investigation and charged the trucking company, Heartland Express, with failure to display triangles on a disabled vehicle and disobeying traffic signs for vehicle restrictions.

Fayetteville NC Semi Truck Accident on I-95 Driver Burned
FAYETTEVILLE, NC – A semi tractor-trailer caught on fire late Monday evening around 11:30 pm, Oct 19, 2009 near the 68 mile marker of Interstate 95 just north of Fayetteville. The semi truck accident seriously burned the driver, 54 year old Frankie Graves from Goldsboro, NC. The accident occurred in the northbound lanes of I-95 when Graves swerved to avoid 2 vehicles that were stopped on the highway.

The tanker truck Graves was driving caught fire after he struck a guard rail and punctured his fuel tank. The truck accident was part of a chain-reaction crash.
In the accident Graves clothes caught on fire, then he jumped from the cab. A former soldier from Hope Mills, NC, went to his aid at the scene of the accident and rolled him in the median to extinguish the flames. Graves, who was badly burned over 40% of his body, remains in critical condition. He was airlifted to the N.C. Jaycee Burn Center in Chappel Hill for treatment.

Lexington NC Semi Truck Accident on I-85 – Video
LEXINGTON, NC – One person was killed this morning when a semi truck crashed into the rear of a car that was stopped on the southbound I-85 near the Highway 8 exit at mile marker 91 in Davidson County. The truck accident happened at about 11:20 am when the driver of the tractor-trailer struck the vehicle that had come to a stop in the right-hand lane of traffic.
The force of the collision pushed the car about 100 yards then the truck jack-knifed and slid off to the left side of the road. The car basically exploded into flames and came to rest on the right shoulder.
Police say that the the driver of the car was killed when the semi-truck crashed into the back of it after stopping on the Interstate. The reason the car was stopped on the highway is not clear to investigators at this time. Southbound lanes were closed for most of the afternoon while crews cleaned up. The Interstate was re-opened around 2 pm. Authorities have not revealed the identity or gender of the victim, but one eyewitness believes the driver was a female.

Police are not releasing any additional details at this time or whether or not the semi truck driver will face any charges for his part in the collision. The Lexington Police are investigating the fatal truck accident with assistance from Highway Patrol troopers.
