Vermont Chain Reaction Semi Truck Accident On I-89 With Two Milk Tankers And Car

MONTPELIER, VT – Two people died in a Monday morning chain reaction truck accident on Interstate 89 in Vermont that included two milk tanker trucks and a car. The truck collision occurred near the state capital, Montpelier, in the central section of the state, 118 miles northwest of Concord, New Hampshire and 132 miles southeast of Montréal, Quebec, Canada.

The truck accident happened as 59 year old David Dike of Fletcher, Vermont was driving south on I-89, driving a milk truck for McDermott’s Inc. of Enosburg, VT. The road conditions were potentially dangerous with patches of ice, and the temperature was almost freezing. Rain was falling when Dike suddenly lost control of his milk tanker truck and jack-knifed across both of the southbound lanes of I-89 in the area between exits 8 and 9 . ..
