Fuel Spills on I-75 in Westchester Ohio Truck Accident

WEST CHESTER, OH – Thousands of gallons of fuel were spilled after a truck accident on an interstate in Butler County, Ohio. The driver of the semi was trying to avoid hitting another vehicle when it crashed on Interstate 75 near the ramp to Ohio State Highway 129. The incident happened near West Chester, on the far north edge of the Cincinnati metro region. The area of the truck accident is in the southwest corner of Ohio, about 123 miles southeast of Indianapolis, Indiana and about 39 miles north of Alexandria, Kentucky.

On Monday morning, January 10, a semi tanker truck was traveling south on Interstate 75. Fiery Tanker Truck Accident Closes Ohio Road

CALIFORNIA, OH: A highway in Hamilton County, Ohio was closed for about six hours after a fiery tanker truck accident on Tuesday morning. The single vehicle rollover occurred on Interstate 275 near the juncture with Kellogg Road, in the neighborhood of California, in the Cincinnati metro region. The truck accident area is in the far southwest corner of the state near the border with Indiana and Kentucky, about 115 miles southwest of Columbus, OH and about 85 miles north of Lexington, KY.

On Tuesday morning, November 9, 33 year old truck driver Troy Hudson of Georgetown, OH was driving a tanker truck west on Interstate 275 through Hamilton County, OH. The tanker section of the truck was filled with a cargo of paving tar/blacktop sealant, which is used to repair road surfaces. One passenger was also in the tanker truck, identified as 32 year old Mike Kretching of Batavia, OH. Truck Accident on Ohio Highway Creates HAZ-MAT Situation

ASHLAND COUNTY, OH – A truck accident Monday night, Oct 4, on an Ohio highway created a serious hazardous material situation when thousands of gallons of fuel spilled out onto the roadway. Two people were critically injured in the collision between the semi tanker and pick-up truck at the intersection of U.S. Highway 30 and Ohio State Route 511 in Ashland County, Ohio. Truck Accident Causes Haz-Mat Spill on Indiana I-74 Near Cincinnati OH

DEARBORN COUNTY, IN – A semi truck crashed Friday morning, September 3, spilling several gallons of a hazardous material next to a highway in Dearborn County, Indiana. The single truck incident happened near the border between Indiana and Ohio and for a time shut down all lanes on Interstate 74. The truck accident area is in the southeast section of the state, about 26 miles west of Cincinnati, Ohio.

The truck accident occurred as the semi tanker moved through a construction zone near mile marker 159 on the interstate, close to the St. Peter overpass.

On Friday morning at about 7:30 a.m., 29 year old truck driver Andrzej Grela of Chicago, Illinois was driving a semi tanker truck east on Interstate 74 in Dearborn County, Indiana. The tanker truck was loaded with about 4,000 gallons of Phthalic Anhydride Molten, which is used to make polyester resins and dyes. It is a flammable material that reacts with water and can be potentially toxic if inhaled. Ohio Neighborhood Evacuated after Rollover Tanker Truck Accident

NEWBURY, OH – At about 1:30 p.m. Saturday afternoon, June 19, 52 year old Anthony Ward of Garfield Heights, Ohio was driving a 2007 Freightliner Columbia pulling a 2003 Heil gas tanker truck north on OH State Route 44 near the township of Newbury. The truck was carrying about 8,500 gallons of gasoline in its tanker. The truck had the logo of Source One Transportation, a gas transport company based in Belle Vernon, Pennsylvania.

Local emergency personnel responded to the scene of the tanker truck accident and worked more than three hours to extricate the driver from his rig.

As the truck driver approached the juncture of SR 44 and Music Street he reportedly lost control of his rig as he attempted to negotiate a curve on the highway. Two Semi Trucks Collide on Ohio Highway

HARRISON, OH – Two semi trailer trucks collided early Friday morning, May 30, 2010, on a highway in Hamilton County, Ohio. The truck accident occurred on Interstate 74 at the exit for New Haven Road in Harrison, OH and involved a UPS double trailer truck and another tractor trailer. The accident area is in the far west-central section of the state, on the border with Indiana, about 26 miles northwest of Cincinnati and about 90 miles southeast of Indianapolis, Indiana.

When the two tractor trailers collided the impact punctured fuel tanks on the UPS semi truck and the contents spilled out onto the interstate, leaving an oil and diesel fuel spill about 300 feet long.

Shortly after 1:00 a.m. Friday morning, 42 year old William Connor of Burlington, Kentucky was driving a UPS semi truck pulling two trailers west on Interstate 74. FedEx Semi Truck Hits Ohio Highway Patrol Trooper

MONTPELIER, OH – A Ohio Highway Patrol trooper was injured Thursday morning, April 29, 2010, when he was hit by a FedEx semi truck in Williams County, OH. The truck accident happened while the trooper was conducting a traffic stop on the Ohio Turnpike near the city of Montpelier. The area is about 13 miles east of the Indiana border in the far northwest corner of the state, 60 miles west of Toledo, OH and 55 miles northeast of Fort Wayne, IN.

The FedEx truck first hit the trooper’s vehicle, and then the cruiser plowed into the minivan, hitting Trooper Alexander and throwing him about 70 feet over the highway guardrail.

Semi Truck Hauling Nine Vehicles Flips Over on I-70 in New Concord OH

NEW CONCORD OH – On Monday April 5 at about 8:00 a.m. a semi truck carrying nine vehicles flipped over on Interstate 70 just west of the State Route 83 exit in New Concord Ohio.

Middletown OH Father Dies in Semi Truck Accident

MIDDLETOWN, OH – Updated Thursday, Sep 16, 20009. This is a follow up to a previous post yesterday. In the Middletown, Ohio semi truck accident that occurred at the intersection of Clinton Street and Manchester Avenue, the man that was killed was 73-year-old passenger Gordon Ondersma, from Middletown. His son, Jerry Ondersma, 39,  also from Middletown, was driving the pickup truck at the time and was injured when the vehicle collided with a semi-truck on Sep 15 at 1:45 pm.

The pickup truck that was involved in the truck accident was a Ford Ranger. It was not an F-150 as was previously reported. Gordon Ondersma was ejected from the pickup truck in that fatal collision.

The semi truck, driven by 39 year old James Flynn, was coming from the Miller Brewing Co., in Trenton, OH on his way to Columbus to pick up another truck (see map below).

Flynn said he slammed on his brakes to avoid the accident. The semi truck swerved, then struck the pickup, which subsequently flipped over several times then ejected the passenger.

Middletown OH Semi Truck Accident – Man Dies

MIDDLETOWN, OH – One man has died in a semi truck accident in Middletown, Ohio when his pick-up truck ran a stop sign and crashed into the semi truck. The Middletown police say that the deceased man was pinned under his pick-up truck and died around 2:15 pm today, Sept. 15. Police are withholding the man’s identity until his family is notified. Paramedics worked on the man for several minutes, before he was put in an ambulance to be transported to the Atrium Medical Center.

The truck accident occured at the intersection of Clinton Street and Manchester Avenue. Witnesses report that a Ford F-150 was traveling west on Manchester Avenue and failed to stop at the stop sign at Clinton Street. The pick-up truck then collided with a semi-truck that was heading north on Clinton Street. The semi truck driver, James Flynn, said that he saw the pick-up truck coming into the intersection when he swerved to avoid it. But the semi truck collided with the pick-up truck, flipping it over several times.

Firefighters were able to extract a second person from the pick-up truck. They strapped him to a back board with a neck brace and then transported him to Atrium Medical Center at about 2:10 pm.

Flynn reported that he was not injured. He was visibly upset when he was informed that the man had died.

Debris was scattered into the intersection. Among the debris and wreckage were tools that were inside the pick-up truck.
