Massive Pileup of Cars and Semi Trucks on PA Turnpike in Feasterville, PA

FEASTERVILLE, PA – Over 100 vehicles in multiple accidents involving semi trucks and other vehicles shut down eastbound lanes in a massive pileup on the Pennsylvania Turnpike (I-276) in Feasterville, PA on February 14, 2014.

Feasterville is located in Lower Southampton Township in Bucks County, Pennsylvania in the eastern part of the state about 21.3 miles northeast of Philadelphia.

At least 30 motorists were injured in the incident. All eastbound traffic on I-276 was shut down between Willow Grove, PA and Bensalem, PA.

The first crash happened around 8:25 a.m. near mile marker 351, about a mile west of the Bensalem exit and then multiple other collisions followed.

It is unclear exactly what caused the pileup, but icy road conditions and sun glare were among the possibilities along with speed.

First responders reached the victims and put them on stretchers and had to cross over onto the westbound lanes to transport them to nearby hospitals.
