GREENSBORO, NC – A semi truck overturned, October 10, on I-40 when a pickup truck lost control while merging into traffic in Greensboro, NC.
The accident happened Thursday morning around 11:20 a.m., October 10, on the eastbound I-40 at the State Highway 68 interchange when a pickup truck spun out while merging onto the Interstate into the path of the big rig.
The semi truck was hauling a container trailer with cigarettes and was traveling eastbound on I-40 and was approaching the Highway 68 overpass.
A pickup truck lost control while entering traffic from the southbound 68 transition ramp onto the eastbound I-40 and nearly ran into the semi truck.
The big rig overturned and the trailer was hanging over the edge of the overpass and knocked some debris onto the roadway below.
The semi truck driver was injured and was transported to a hospital.
The accident is currently under investigation.
