MASSILLON, OH — Two people were killed on Friday, May 18, when a four-door sedan traveling eastbound on Lincoln Way struck a semi truck and became wedged under the tanker truck. The city of Massillon is about 8 miles west of Canton, Ohio.
According to the Ohio Highway Patrol, the accident occurred Friday night just after 10 p.m. in the 12000 block of Lincoln Way W. just east of Brenner Ave. The identities of the victims have not been released.
North Lawrence Fire Department Capt. Kevin Alloway said that the tanker truck had just delivered a load of pool water at a nearby residence.
The driver of the truck was being evaluated at the scene by North Lawrence paramedics.
The incident remains under investigation by the Ohio State Police at this time.
